Joint Opposition cuts birthday cake on SLFP anniversary day

Today marks the 65th anniversary of Sri Lanka Freedom Party.

The party was formed by former president the late S.W.R.D. Bandaranaike on September 2, 1951 during a meeting held at the Colombo Town Hall.  

Later, the first SLFP government was voted into power in 1956.

Meanwhile, the Joint Opposition celebrated the party’s 65th anniversary at the political office of former president Mahinda Rajapaksa on Nelum Mawatha in Battaramulla this morning.

The members of the Joint Opposition cut a birthday cake to celebrate the event before the media conference.  

Later, MP Dallas Alahapperuma expressed his views during the media conference.
