Ven. Omalpe Sobitha Thera stated today that he will be resigning from the leadership of the Jathika Hela Urumaya.   

The Thera expressed these views while addressing the 13th National Convention of the party held today at the Sugathadasa indoor stadium.

Deputy Minister of Mass Media Karunarathna Paranavithana was elected for the post of Co-Chairman of the party, during the convention.
