The Mihin Lankan Employees Association charges that the decision taken by the company administration to merge with Sri Lankan Airlines is a ploy to deny them their jobs.

Addressing a media conference held in Colombo today, Convener of Mihin Lanka employees’ Association Shahika Saheed said the government has decided to merge the two airlines due to a dispute over the company name and its logo.

The operations of Mihin Lanka are scheduled to be taken over by Sri Lankan Airlines after October 30th.

Mihin Lanka has employed 300 workers and 67 out of them have been recruited under permanent basis.
