State Minister Range Bandara’s son arrested following a fatal accident

Palugashandiya Police arrested State Minister Palitha Range Bandara’s son last night in connection with a fatal accident that took place in Dharmapala area, Anamaduwa.

Along with the State Minister’s son, Yashodha Range Bandara, the police also apprehended the jeep which was thought to be involved in the accident. 

Anamaduwa police said another man, who surrendered to the police acknowledging that he was the one who caused the accident, was arrested.

A 42-year-old employee of a shop in Aanamaduwa town was killed in the accident that occurred at about 7.30 last night.

Reports say that the accident had taken place as a result of a collision between the State Minister’s son’s jeep and the bicycle that the victim was riding on his way home after work.
