A Heated argument in Parliament over the COPE report on the Bond Issue - SLFP also take a firm stance

Heated arguments erupted in parliament today over the COPE investigative report on the controversial Central Bank Bond issue.

During the sessions, COPE Chairman MP Sunil Handunnetti said that the COPE report will be presented to parliament within this week.

MPs Dinesh Gunawardana, Wimal Weerawansa, Anura Kumara Dissanayake as well as Leader of the House Lakshman Kiriella, Deputy Minister Ajith P Perera and Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe also participated in the debate.

Public opinion has been gathering momentum over the investigations made by the COPE and its report on the Central Bank Bond Issue.  

Representatives of different political parties expressed their views with regard to the controversial bond issue today.
