Update: Kudu Roshan and 10 others detained 72 hours for questioning

The Colombo Crime Division stated that the 11 suspects arrested in connection with the quadruple murder in Mattakkuliya will be detained for 72 hours for questioning.

The main suspect of the murders, Prasad Ruwan alias Kudu Roshan and 8 other suspects were arrested last evening while they were hiding in a relative’s house at Wewalwatta in Ratnapura.

Following the arrest, a T-56 and two pistols victims were found from Situlpawwa in Puwakpitiya, Kadawatha last evening.

At the same time, the caretaker of a Devalaya and his son were also arrested for aiding and abetting the murders.

The suspects have revealed that they hid the weapons in this Devalaya before the crime was committed.

Police stated that all the suspects are below the age of 30.

Four persons including an underworld gangster Chooti Ukkuwa were killed in the shooting that occurred last Sunday.

Police also said that three more victims were hospitalized and the condition of one of them is still critical.

Eleven suspects of the Mattakkuliya quadruple murder were arrested with firearms last night. The arrested included the main suspect of the murders.

They were hiding in Ratnapura area when the Colombo Crimes Division arrested them.

Four individuals were shot and killed in Samithpura, Mattakkuliya on Sunday (23). Three others who were injured during the shooting are receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.

Hospital sources said that one of the injured is in serious health condition.
