Wimal Weerawansa arrested- [photos]

NFF leader MP Wimal Weerawansa who appeared before the FCID this morning has been arrested.

He was summoned before police to record a statement with regard to the misuse of government vehicles during the previous regime.

A group of monks led by Bengamuwe Nalaka Thera, MPs Bandula Gunawardana, Namal Rajapaksa, Johnston Fernando, Prasanna Ranatunga, Niroshan Premarathna, Weerakumara Dissanayake and several NFF members were present at the FCID this morning.

Before Weerawansa entered the FCID, Bengamuwe Nalaka Thera and the fellow monks chanted pirith to invoke a blessing on the MP.
