The MET department stated that showers can be expected island wide from the 20th.

The department further stated that the prevailing cold weather conditions would fade off in the next few days.

Lack of water vapour in the atmosphere and the intensity of sun rays deteriorating have resulted in the condition.

Moreover, wind flowing from Himalayan mountain range in India is reported to be contributing to the cold weather conditions experienced in mornings.
