Service Pension for Disabled War Heroes from next month

Secretary of Defence Karunasena Hettiarachchi stated that it has been decided to pay the service pension for disabled war heroes with effect from February.

Accordingly Servicemen who have not completed 10 years in service and Officers who had not completed 12 years will be entitled to the scheme.

Several protests were held by disabled war heroes demanding their service pension including a protest which escalated in to a clash on the 7th of November.
