Prime Minister leaves for Switzerland

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe left the island today to attend the 47th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

Prime Minister Wickremesinghe has been invited to attend the Forum which begins on 17th and will conclude on the 20th January with the participation of over 40 heads of state and 2500 economists.

Issuing a statement the Office of the Prime Minister said the Premier will meet with Switzerland officials and leading international businessmen for discussions.

The summit is significant as world leaders will gather to compile an agenda for the global and regional economy.

The Prime Minister attended the Davos meeting last year, when first time that a Sri Lankan political leader has been invited to attend the world renowned meeting.
