50,000 acres of paddy in Trincomalee left for grazing

Deputy Minister of Public Administration and Management Susantha Punchi Nilame said that over 50 thousand acres of paddy that has been affected by drought conditions have been left for grazing.

He said that a special District Committee meeting will be held at the District Secretariat in Trincomalee tomorrow to discuss the situation.

About 21, 598 persons in the Trincomalee district have been affected by the drought.

Kuchchaveli, Gomarankadawala, Muttur, Kantale, Kinniya, Morawewa, Seruwila and Padavi Sripura have been identified as the most affected areas.
