The Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum Klaus Schwab commended the proposal submitted by Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe regarding organizing a high level summit with the participation of European and Asian trade ministers.
He added that the organization is prepared to present itself for this purpose.
He expressed these views when he met with the Prime Minister and the delegation during the World Economic forum held in Davos, Switzerland.
The premier expressed his gratitude towards the support extended towards Sri Lanka last year by the world economic forum, its executive chairman and the board of officials.
Meanwhile Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe held discussions with the head of the world renowned Novartis pharmaceutical company, Dr. Petra Locks.
Prime minister noted that the government of Sri Lanka is focused on manufacturing local medicine with a high standard.
He added that attention has been drawn to provide a separate manufacturing zone for such industries.
In addition, the president of Microsoft Jean-Philippe Courtois stated during a meeting with the premier that he is prepared to provide the necessary guidance and support to improve computer literacy and digitalization in Sri Lanka.
