India denies Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka’s statement on the Trinco harbor

Indian officials has denied the statement made by Regional Development Minister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka’s that Sri Lanka and India are discussing the development of the Trincomlee harbour, an Indian newspaper stated.

Claims are made that the government is trying to give the harbor to India in a bid to balance the grant of 80 per cent stake in Hambantota harbor to China.

Indian officials has stated that they are not interested in such a move.
