Train drivers halt work to rule

The work to rule trade union action launched at midnight on Monday by train drivers, has currently been halted.

The work to rule trade union action was launched based on a few issues with regard to the recruitment process. 

The Secretary of the Locomotive Operating Engineer’s Association Indika Dodangoda stated that the Minister of Transport and Civil Aviation, Nimal Siripala De Silva addressed the association last night. 

The minister had given assurance that a discussion will be held today.

The Secretary noted that as a result the work to rule trade union action was suspended.
