The debate for the Cope Committee report on the Central Bank bond issue is scheduled to take place in parliament today at 9.30 am and will continue on till 7.30 pm. 

Expressing his views regarding the debate, representing the Joint Opposition, MP Shehan Semasinghe stated that the UNP continues to protect the wrong doers involved in the issue.  

Meanwhile attending a media briefing held in Colombo yesterday, the leader of the JVP MP Anura Kumara Dissanayake, noted that there is an attempt to postpone the debate that was scheduled for today. 

However, UNP Gampaha District MP Ajith Mannapperuma noted that the debate would further strengthen the parliament.
