Update: Man who caused havoc at courts during Wimal Weerawansa’s case remanded

The man who was arrested for alleged defamatory behavior at courts when case of MP Wimal Weerawansa was taken up, remanded till February 05.


According to reports, a person who was inside the Colombo Fort Magistrate Courts during the hearing of Former Minister Wimal Weerawansa’s case today has shouted calling to arrest former Deputy Minister of Housing & Construction Lasantha Alagiyawanna and former head of Engineering Corporation Ashu Marasinghe.

The person concerned has been arrested by the Police according to court order stated our courts reporter.

Lasantha Alagiyavanna was the deputy minister for Housing & Construction and current United National Party MP Ashu Marasingha was the head of Engineering Corporation during the period when charges were made on Wimal Weerawansa over misuse of state vehicles.
