10 persons including 2 police officers arrested for poaching

2 police officers and eight civilians had been arrested by the Wild Life Department officials for allegedly hunting in the Wilpattu National Wildlife Sanctuary.

The 2 police officers are attached to the Puthlam police division.

The suspects were produced before the Puttalam Magistrate’s Court today and later released on 500 thousand rupee personal bail each.
