President to decide on private universities issue after considering best interests of the country

President Maithripala Sirisena says that a more productive decision for the country will be achieved with regard to the SAITM dispute.

The President stated this at a discussion held with the parents of the students of SAITM and its founder Dr. Neville Fernando yesterday.

He also said that the views of all stake holders on this issue will be taken into consideration and special attention will be drawn to the views of the student population.

The President also said that he expects to discuss the matter with the University Grants Commission and Sri Lanka Medical Council.
