BAR association amends its constitution: Elections to be held on March 15th

The Bar association of Sri Lanka has decided to hold its election on the 15th of March.

The executive committee of the Bar association held a meeting this morning at the Bar Association Headquarters to discuss  regarding the postponed elections.

The election of the Sri Lanka Bar Association was scheduled to be held on the 21st of this month but was postponed indefinitely.   

The Bar association noted that this was due to the judges association failing to show its support for the elections.  

Secretary of the Bar Association Amal Randeniya noted that accordingly the constitution of the Bar association was amended today, to hold elections regardless of the support by the judges association.
