President to leave for Indonesia today

President Maithripala Sirisena is expected to leave for Indonesia today to take part in the Indian Ocean Rim Association’s Summit meeting scheduled to be held in Jakarta, Indonesia.

The summit is organized with the aim of promoting sustainable and balanced development in the countries in the region.

This year’s theme is “Strengthening Maritime Cooperation for a Peaceful, Stable and Prosperous Indian Ocean”.

President’s Media Unit stated that two agreements on fisheries and small and medium scale entrepreneurship will be signed between the two countries during the President visit.
