Former president Mahinda Rajapaksa says that creating a society where women are not harassed or abused is the need of the hour.

The former president was speaking at a rally organized by the Joint Opposition to mark the International Women’s day at the Viharamaha Devi Park Open Theatre in Colombo today.
 
Meanwhile, heavy traffic was reported in Town Hall and surrounding areas due to a protest march conducted by the Joint Opposition before the rally.
