Fertilizer distribution to begin soon

Sources say that lab testing on the shipment of fertilizer which was imported to Sri Lanka is now underway.

The stock, which arrived in Sri Lanka from the Middle East, contains 50,000MT.

The chairman of Lanka Fertilizer Company, Roshana Waduge said that the stocks could be able to distribute from tomorrow.

Meanwhile, 40,000MT of fertilizer to be sent by Pakistan on a request by President Maithripala Sirisena would arrive in Sri Lanka within the next 2 weeks.

Those stocks will be distributed among the private sector.
