Anura Kumara demands Rs. 500mn from Johnston Fernando

The leader of the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna filed a case at the Provincial Court in Colombo seeking Rs. 500 million as damages from former Minister Johnston Fernando.
The JVP leader cited that the former Minister had made malicious and defamatory remarks against him during a forum held in Tangalle on 15th of October last year.
Meanwhile, the petition filed by former Defence Secretary requesting the Supreme Court to issue an order to Financial Crimes Investigation Division not to arrest was postponed until 31st of May.
The order was issued when the petition was taken up today (Jan. 23) before Chief Justice Priyasath Dep and Justice Sisira de Abrew.
