Met Department says fairly heavy falls (about 100mm) can be expected at some places particularly in Eastern and Uva provinces and in Matale and Polonnaruwa districts.

The deep and shallow sea areas around the island will be rough at times as wind speed increase up to 50-60 kmph at times. Temporarily very strong gusty winds (up to 70-80 kmph) and very rough seas can be expected during thundershowers.

In this context, the Met Office urged the naval and fishing communities to be vigilant in this regard.
