The teacher associations have raised objections to the reinstatement of the Uva Chief Minister, Chamara Sampath Dasanayake as the provincial Education Minister.

The Chief Minister is facing an inquiry for allegedly forcing the principal of Badulla Tamil Girls’ School to kneel before him.

Addressing a media conference held in Colombo today (Apr. 16), Ceylon Teachers' Association President, Joseph Stalin said that reinstating the Chief Minister in the education portfolio before the judicial process is concluded is immoral.

Sri Lanka Human Rights Commission is investigating the incident.

However, Chief Minister Chamara Sampath Dasanayake said that the Provincial Governor reinstated him a month ago.
