The Consumer Affairs Authority says that special raids will be carried out to nab those who sell sub-standard Atapirikara and Buddhist flags.
The CAA Chairman, Hasita Tillakaratne said that if sub-standard Atapirikara or Buddhist flags are sold, the public is encouraged to convey such information to the authorities by dialling the hotline 1977 or 011 7 755481.
The manufacturers and vendors of Atapirikara are required to register their businesses with the Buddhist Affairs Department.
In addition, the maximum retail price, the contact details of the manufacturer and importer should be included in the registration.
