Government analyst visits Horana factory

The bodies of 5 persons who died following an industrial accident at a rubber processing factory in Bellapitiya, Horana have been sent to Panadura Base Hospital for post-mortem inquiries.
The Judicial Medical Officer Dr. Uthpala Aatygalle will conduct the post-mortem examinations.
Meanwhile, 19 others who suffered respiratory difficulties following the incident are still receiving treatment at Horana Base Hospital.
Director of the hospital Dr. Thamara Kalubowila said that two patients are still in critical condition.
Meanwhile, the Government Analyst this morning (Apr. 20) had visited the factory.
Horana Police said that the factory Manager who was arrested yesterday is still being questioned regarding the accident.
He will be produced before Horana Magistrate later today.
Meanwhile, police said that the owner of the factory has been informed to report to police to record a statement.
At around 1.20 pm yesterday, a worker at the factory had fallen into the waste-water pit of the factory.
Thereafter, fellow employees and neighbours had attempted to rescue him and few of them too had fallen into the fit.
Altogether, around 40 persons have admitted to Horana Base Hospital and 5 of them died.

Priyantha Kumara (43) of Bellapitiya, Horana
Dileepa Kasun (34) of Bellapitiya, Horana
