Finance Ministry says that the Special Commodity Tax on imported potatoes and big onions have been increased.

 

Accordingly, the SCT on imported big onions which were on Rs. 1 for a kilogramme has now increased up to Rs.40.

 

The Special Commodity Tax on potatoes which were on Rs. 30 per kilogramme has not revised to Rs. 40.

 

The Finance Ministry said this step was taken to protect the domestic farmers.
