Sri Lanka's next Presidential election will be held in 2020, which is just 18 months away.
The political parties are hinting of their candidates for that crucial election.
Speaking to the media following an event in Kuruwita, Ratnapura today (May 13) former Minister MP W. D. J. Seneviratne said at any future election they would work under the leadership of former President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
Meanwhile, following a rally in Kandy, Minister Lakshman Kiriella said that the United National Party's 2020 candidate will be Ranil Wickremesinghe.
In the meantime, Minister Mahinda Amaraweera said that Sri Lanka Freedom Party will field President Maithripala Sirisena for 2020 Presidential election.
