After a person from Suriyagama in Kuttigala, Embilipitiya was diagnosed with COVID-19, about 60 people were directed to quarantine.
Embilipitiya Administrative Public Health Inspector R.M.K. Bandara stated that the person was identified as a coronavirus patient during a PCR test that was conducted when he visited the Peliyagoda fish market on 20 October.
While he was at home, he was treated at a private medical center for symptoms such as the flu and the common cold.
He had arrived in Peliyagoda using public transport. A supermarket, a jewelry shop, and a private medical center in Embilipitiya, as well as several shops in the Kuttigala-42 area, were closed as he had frequented them.
