The UGC Chair stated that several factors such litigation, coronavirus epidemic as well as staff limitations at the UGC have contributed to the delay in the issuance of Z-score cut-off marks for the 2019 Advanced Level Examination.

A case was filed before the Supreme Court in relation to allocation of places for courses of study between the students who applied for University admission under New and Old Syllabi based on the results of the GCE (A/L) Examination held in 2019.
