In an attempt to tackle a coronavirus cluster that emerged out of Xinjiang Province, China had taken steps to test nearly 4.75 million people in the province.
During a routine test that was carried out a garment factory worker was identified as a coronavirus patient.

She was the first patient to be reported from the community in 10 days in China. The relevant authorities have implemented mobility restrictions within 10 kilometers where the cluster was found.

Transportation in the region remains open with residents allowed to leave if they have tested negative for the virus in the past seven days. So far 2.8 million PCR tests were carried out and the rest will be tested in the next two days.

According to Chinese authorities, tests have so far found 137 asymptomatic COVID-19 infections.

Earlier, in May, China tested 11 million people in the city of Wuhan, where the spread of the coronavirus began.
