Another eight COVID deaths were reported in the country today (17). 

The death toll in Sri Lanka increased to 264 with the 8 deaths reported.  Five were from Colombo.

The details of the 8 victims are as follows,

01. The deceased was a 63 year old female from Kolonnawa. She died while undergoing treatments at General Hospital Colombo. 

02. The deceased was a 75 year old male from Borella. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 virus and transferred from a private Hospital in Colombo to Base Hospital Mulleriyawa

03. The deceased was a 27 year old male from Udupussellawa. He was transferred from Base Hospital Udupussellawa to District General Hospital Nuwara Eliya. 

04. The deceased was an 87 year old male from Kegalle. He died while undergoing treatments at Homagama Base Hospital. 

05. The deceased is a 72 year old male from Dehiwala. He was diagnosed as infected with Covid 19 virus and transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to Base Hospital Homagama.

06. The deceased was a 66 year old male from Polonnaruwa. He was diagnosed with Covid 19 virus and transferred from Welikanda Base Hospital to IDH Hospital.

07. The deceased was an 83 year old male from Colombo 08. He was diagnosed with Covid 19 virus and transferred from a private hospital in Colombo to IDH Hospital.

08. The deceased was a 75 year old male from Ududumbara. He was diagnosed with Covid-19 virus and transferred from District Hospital Awissawella to Base Hospital Mulleriyawa.
