A drunk driver has been arrested for killing one person and seriously injuring three others on the Wellawatte marine drive.
Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that another drunk person traveling with him in the car was also arrested.
The 49-year-old drunk driver was the manager of a well-known hotel in Wellawatte, while the other accomplice was a 48-year-old resident of Narahenpita.
The accident had taken place when they were leaving a night club in Colombo in the morning.
A person on a cycle was killed in the accident.
Four persons traveling on two motorcycles were also injured in the incident, including two brothers traveling on the same motorcycle.
The police further stated that the elder brother had died when they were admitted to the Colombo South Teaching Hospital.
A female was also among the injured. All of them are residents of Wellawatte.
