Minority party convene for a meeting at SLFP headquarters

A meeting of the leaders of 11 minority parties represented in Parliament ended a short while ago at the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) headquarters on Daly Road.

Former President Maithripala Sirisena, SLFP General Secretary Dayasiri Jayasekara, Duminda Dissanayake and several others representing the SLFP were present at the discussion which commenced at around 07:00 p.m. tonight. Cabinet Ministers Wimal Weerawansa and Udaya Gammanpila were also present at the discussion.

State Ministers Vasudeva Nanayakkara, MPs Gevindu Kumaratunga, Athuraliye Rathana Thera and former Minister D.E.W. Gunasekara were also present at the discussion.

After more than an hour and a half of discussions, the Parliamentarians who came out of the SLFP headquarters told the media that this was just another step in a series of meetings of minority party leaders representing Parliament.

However, Wimal Weerawansa and Dayasiri Jayasekara were seen avoiding the media.
