The Catholic Church has invited foreign ambassadors to join in on commemorating the victims of the Easter Sunday terror attack that took place on 21 April, 2019.

The attack also killed tourists from 13 countries and Sri Lankan ambassadors to those countries have been invited, said Archbishop Jude Krishantha Fernando, Director of Mass Communications.

Meanwhile, Archbishop Malcolm Cardinal Ranjith is scheduled to make a statement today regarding the programme to be implemented to commemorate the Easter attack, by convening a special press conference.

The Police Headquarters has instructed senior officers including all police stations to provide security to all churches islandwide on 21 April.

This is due to the fact that services and religious programmes have been organized in the churches in memory of those who were killed and injured in the Easter Sunday attack on 21 April, 2019.
