Investigations have revealed that a grenade that was found at a toilet in a private hospital in Narahenpita was kept there with the intention of obtaining reward money after giving a tip in this regard to the police.

However, information is yet to be received as to how the suspect procured the grenade.

A 26-year-old resident of Uppuveli, Trincomalee was arrested yesterday in connection with the incident.

He had arrived in Colombo about a week ago to join the construction work of the hospital.

Investigations into the suspect further revealed that he was in heavy debt.
