As per the latest statistics, the number of COVID cases reported in a day has exceeded 3,000 every day, except on two days.

This conclusion is arrived at by dividing the number of cases that were reported with a delay by the number of days in the relevant period.

The Epidemiology Unit added another 3,152 to the official total number of COVID cases reported in Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, nearly 394 cases must be added to each day.

As per that strategy, the number of daily reported infections on all days except two days will exceed the 3,000 limit.

Against this background, the statements made noting that the number of COVID cases reported in Sri Lanka are declining, are questionable.

Meanwhile, Uru Warige Wannila Aththo spoke to the media for the first time after the death of his wife regarding the spread of COVID and its impact on the people.
