Over 12% growth rate reported for second quarter of 2021

The new Governor of the Central Bank Sri Lanka Ajith Nivard Cabraal says that the economic growth rate has increased to 12.3 percent in the second quarter of this year.

Economic growth reported in the first quarter of this year stood at 8 percent.

However, the Governor of the Central Bank stated that the government's objective is to maintain a high level of economic growth in the face of the COVID pandemic.

He stated the above while sharing a message on Twitter.
