A bowser carrying diesel that arrived at the IOC petrol station in Weligama was not allowed to land this morning (21).
This was due to protests by three wheelers and motorcyclists queuing to get the petrol.
The protesters said that they would not allow to unload diesel until they received the petrol.
As the protesters did not allow the bowser to unload the diesel by blocking orads, the Weligama Police intervened and secured the bowser.
However, the police intervened and the protests demonstration was settled with authorities undertaking to bring petrol as soon as possible.
At the same time, our regional correspondent stated that the protesters allowed to unload the diesel bowser.
