The Trump administration is set to import eggs from Turkey and South Korea to address record-high prices in the United States, officials confirmed.

Agriculture Secretary Brooke Rollins stated that "hundreds of millions of eggs" are expected to be imported in the short term. This follows a $1 billion plan to counter a severe bird flu epidemic that has led to the culling of millions of chickens in the US.

Despite President Trump's pledge to reduce prices, egg costs have risen by over 65% in the past year and are projected to increase by 41% in 2025.

Rollins noted that talks are ongoing with other countries to secure additional supplies but did not specify which regions.

Meanwhile, Polish and Lithuanian poultry associations reported being contacted by US embassies regarding potential egg exports. Katarzyna Gawronska, director of the National Chamber of Poultry and Feed Producers in Poland, confirmed the inquiry from the American embassy in Warsaw.
