The Matale High Court has sentenced Akash (Yogi) Patel, manager of the Kandy Samp Army franchise in the 2024 Legends League, to four years of imprisonment in absentia for match-fixing.
The court also imposed an Rs. 85 million fine on Patel and ordered him to pay Rs. 2 million to former Sri Lankan cricketer Upul Tharanga for defamation.
