The Consumer Affairs Authority says that it has been reported that there is an attempt to create a false gas scarcity by concealing the gas stocks in the market.

CAA Director General J. M. Douglas said that he would request the public to inform the Consumer Services Authority about any such attempts.

While gas companies have currently requested the CAA to increase the gas price, the CAA has so far not given its approval for it.

The CAA Director General said that in coincidence with this situation certain groups were attempting to create a gas scarcity.
