Letters to Parliamentarians

The United National Party states that letters to its members of parliament have already been intimated on as how they should cast their ballot with regard to the impeachment motion which has been filed against the chief justice.

According to the office of the opposition leader letters containing the signatures of UNP General Secretary Thissa Aththanayeke & Chief Opposition whip John Amarathunga have been posted to relevant party parliamentarians via registered post this morning.

However when inquired from several MP's who were elected to parliament through the UNP and are now in support of the government, they declined to acknowledge the receipt of such letters.
