By now various views are expressed with regard to the killing of Kelaniya UPFA divisional councillor Hasitha Madawala.

One of those views is that Coucillor Hasitha Madawala was thus shot dead since he too was involved in a an incident in which a woman had been recently attacked and scolded at the Kelaniya Divisional Council premises.

The reason for  this is the arrest of the said woman Vineethaa Edirisinghe's son Rangana Kumaara as the main suspect in the incident.

A brother of the said woman, Singapore Sarath alias Sarath Edirisinghe is also among the other four suspects arrested by the police.

The woman concerned, Vineethaa Edirisinghe said that when she, a resident of Singhaaramulla in Kelaniya, went to the Kelaniya Divisional Council on 12th of Last December she had faced this attack.

Although the woman concerned had said that on that occasion Kelaniya Divisional Council Chariman Prasanna Ranaweera had scolded and attacked her, she had not mentioned that Councillor Hasitha Madawala was involved in the incident.

The following is her account to our news team about the incident that had taken place on the said date.
