Lawyers have decided to boycott court duties today as well in protest against taking the report on impeachment against the Chief Justice for debate in parliament.

Yesterday too work in many courts island-wide was impeded as a result of lawyers refraining from court duties.

Due to this many judges took steps to postpone to different days a number of cases scheduled to have been taken up for hearing yesterday.

During the protest campaign the lawyers who refrained from court duties held in front of Hulstdorf court complex, a tense situation cropped up with a group which staged a protest expressing support to the Government.
