Registration of students to Law College this year has been postponed by yet another week.

Law College Principal Dr. W. D. Rodrigo told our news team that this decision was taken on the advice of the Law Education Council.

Registration of students who had sat and passed the 2012 Law Entrance Examination was scheduled to begin today.

Registration of new students to Law College had been postponed by the Law College Principal on an earlier occasion.

That was in consideration of requests made by various sections including the 'Bodu Bala Senaa'.

While the 'Bodu Bala Senaa' representatives met the Law College Principal on the 8th, the Principal expressed his decision on that occasion.

In coincidence with allegations made by various sections about irregularities having taken place in the 2012 Law Entrance Examination, talks cropped up in Society with regard to this.

However arrangements have been made to stage a people's protest by groups including the Buddhist Clergy in front of the Law College this forenoon.

This is organised by the 'Bodu Bala Senaa'.

The Law College Principal had requested the Examinations Commissioner to re-scrutinise the already held 2012 law entrance examination answer scripts and inform him accordingly before today.

However the law college principal changed this decision and informed the Examinations Commissioner not to re-scrutinise the answer scripts.

That was because the Law Education Council's approval had not been obtained for this.

However it was after this that the Law College Principal had again postponed the registration of new students.

Law College Principal Dr. W. D. Rodrigo elaborating on the subject stated as follows.
