JVP accused of maintaining double standards by UNP

General Secretary of the United National Party MP Thissa Aththanayeke has accused the JVP of maintaining double standards.

Addressing a media briefing held in Colombo today Aththnayeke charged that individuals, who were unable to accuse the government directly, were instead directing their accusations at the UNP.


Meanwhile yet another media briefing organised by parties constituting the countries opposition was held in Colombo this morning.

Dr. Wickramabahu Karunarathna, Leader of the New Leftist Front who expressed his views at the venue added that it was time for the public to step out to the streets against the oppressive regime.
