The Health Service Trade Union Alliance states that a shard of glass had been discovered inside a vaccination vial in the intensive care unit of the Marawila General Hospital.
Chairman of the HSTUA Saman Rathnapriya stated that this shard of glass was discovered inside vial of anti biotic named Meropenem and that subsequently the doctors had notified the medical director.
Our news team inquired from the medical director of the Marawila General Hospital Dimuth Ponweera regarding this and he stated that the vial had been sent to the ministry of health.
