Water levels of reservoirs decrease; 350,000 continue to be affected

The number of persons affected by the disaster situation affecting the Batticaloa, Ampara and few other districts has risen to 351,703.


Deputy Media Director of the Disaster Management Centre Sarath Lal Kumara stated that steps have been taken to provide relief to the families that were affected.




Meanwhile, the Irrigations Department stated that water levels of reservoirs which had increased recently are now returning to normal levels.
